Cookies are small files a website asks your browser to keep. Local storage is a similar place in your browser for site settings. This page lists every one Save My Prompts uses. Most pages need only the ones that keep you signed in. Measurement and ad cookies are off until you accept them in Privacy choices.
1. Your choices#
You can change your mind at any time. “Privacy choices” is also in the footer of every page. Your choice is stored on this device, so you'll need to set it again on other browsers.
You haven't made a choice on this device yet, so nothing optional is on.
Your browser can also block or delete cookies; signing in needs the necessary ones. We honour the Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out of personalised ads.
2. Necessary#
These make the site work, so they don't need consent. Turning them off in your browser will sign you out.
| Name | Set by | What it does | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| __Secure-better-auth.session_token | savemyprompts.net | Keeps you signed in. Not readable by page scripts. | 7 days, renewed while you use the site |
| __Secure-better-auth.session_data | savemyprompts.net | A short-lived copy of your session so pages load faster. | 5 minutes |
| __cf_bm | Cloudflare, on savemyprompts.net | Tells people from bots, to stop abuse. Set only when Cloudflare's bot protection decides it needs to. | 30 minutes |
Sign-up and contact forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that you're a person. It runs from challenges.cloudflare.com and doesn't set cookies on our site.
3. Preferences on your device#
These are kept in your browser's local storage, never sent to us, and don't need consent.
| Key | What it remembers | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
| smp-theme | Light, dark or follow your system | Until you change it or clear site data |
| smp-consent | Your privacy choices and when you made them | Until you change it or clear site data |
| smp-intro-seen | That you dismissed the welcome band on the home page | Until you clear site data |
| smp-blanks:<prompt id> | What you typed into a prompt's blanks, so it's there next time | Until you clear the blanks or site data |
4. Advertising#
Ads are not switched on yet. When they are, Google AdSense will show them on public pages only (see the privacy policy). In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent message asks you first. Elsewhere, you can turn personalised ads off in Privacy choices.
| Name | Set by | What it does | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|

| __gads, __gpi | Google AdSense, on savemyprompts.net | Limits how often you see the same ad and measures ad performance | Up to 13 months |
| __eoi | Google AdSense, on savemyprompts.net | Security and fraud prevention for ads | Up to 6 months |
| IDE and similar | Google, on doubleclick.net | Personalised ads based on your visits to other sites. Only with your consent where it's required. | Up to 13 months |
Google may change its cookie names; Google's own list (opens in a new tab) is the authority. Opt out of personalised ads from Google everywhere at My Ad Center (opens in a new tab).
5. Measurement (Google Tag Manager and Analytics)#
We count prompt uses and views without cookies (the privacy policy explains how). Website pages also load Google Tag Manager, which runs Google Analytics and similar tags. They start in a denied, cookieless state and set cookies only after you accept Measurement (analytics) or Personalised ads (marketing) in Privacy choices. They aren't loaded on admin pages or the password-reset page.
| Name | Set by | What it does | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| [PLACEHOLDER: Cookie names and lifetimes set by Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, from Google's current documentation and a live check after launch] | Google Analytics, on savemyprompts.net | Tells visits apart and measures page use | Set by Google; see the placeholder |
Google may change its cookie names; Google's own list (opens in a new tab) is the authority.
6. The extension and the app#
The Chrome extension doesn't use cookies. It keeps your sign-in and an offline copy of your library in Chrome's extension storage, which websites can't read. The mobile app will use your phone's secure storage in the same way. Neither has ads or tracking.
7. Questions#
