Under the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (“IT Rules”) and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we have a Grievance Officer who handles complaints from users and from anyone affected by content on Save My Prompts. Anyone can use this, with or without an account.

1. What you can complain about#

  • A prompt, board or profile that breaks our community guidelines or Rule 3(1)(b) of the IT Rules.
  • Content that shows you in a sexual or intimate way without your consent, or impersonates you.
  • A decision we made about your content or account, such as a removal or a suspension.
  • How we handle your personal data, including a request under the DPDP Act that you feel we didn't answer properly.

2. How to file a complaint#

Email [PLACEHOLDER: Grievance email, e.g. grievance@savemyprompts.net], or use the contact form and choose “Grievance (India)”. Please include:

  • Your name and an email address we can reply to.
  • The link to each prompt, board or profile involved.
  • What's wrong, and the rule or law you think it breaks, if you know.
  • If the content is about you (impersonation or intimate images), a short statement that you're the person shown, or are authorised to act for them.

Complaints can be in English or Hindi. We'll reply in the language you write in where we can.

3. How fast we act#

  • Within 24 hours: we acknowledge your complaint and give you a reference.
  • Within 24 hours: we remove or disable access to content that shows a person's private area, nudity or sexual acts, or impersonates them in such content, after a complaint from that person or someone acting for them.
  • Within 72 hours: we act on complaints asking us to remove content under Rule 3(1)(b).
  • Within 15 days: we resolve every other complaint and tell you what we decided and why.
  • Within 36 hours: we act on lawful orders from a court or an authorised government agency.

4. If you're not satisfied#

For decisions about content or accounts, you can appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee within 30 days of our decision, at gac.gov.in (opens in a new tab).

For personal data complaints, once you've raised them with us, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India under the DPDP Act.
