Chrome extension

Your prompts, next to the chat box

Save My Prompts for Chrome keeps your library in the side panel and puts any prompt into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity or Copilot in one click. No copying back and forth.

Coming to the Chrome Web StoreWhat it can access

Free, no ads, works with a free account. We'll link the store listing here the day it's approved: [PLACEHOLDER: Chrome Web Store link].

  • Insert, don't paste. One click puts the prompt in the chat box.
  • Blanks first. Fill them in the panel, then insert.
  • Works offline. Your library lives on your computer too.

Your library opens in Chrome's side panel, next to the chat. Pick a prompt.

A working mock of the extension, made from the same parts. Type in the blank, press Insert, or try quick search. Nothing here leaves this page.

What it does

  1. Your library in the side panel

Search, favourites, tags and an editor, open beside any page. It keeps a copy of your library on your computer, so it's instant and works offline.

  2. Insert into the chat box

On ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity or Copilot, Insert puts the prompt straight into the chat box. Blanks are filled in first. You still press send.

  3. Quick search from anywhere

AltShiftPOpen a search popup with the keyboard, pick a prompt with the arrow keys, and press Enter to insert it.

  4. Save text from any page

Select text, right-click, Save as prompt. The editor opens with it, plus the page's address as the source. An optional floating button does the same without the right-click.

Works on

  • ChatGPTchatgpt.com
  • Claudeclaude.ai
  • Geminigemini.google.com
  • Perplexitywww.perplexity.ai, perplexity.ai
  • Copilotcopilot.microsoft.com

On any other page, Insert copies the prompt instead, so you can paste it. If a site changes its layout and Insert can't find the chat box, it copies and tells you to press Ctrl+V. Needs Chrome 116 or later; other Chromium browsers aren't tested yet.

Every permission, in plain words

Chrome shows a list when you install. Here is each item, what Chrome calls it, and exactly what we use it for. The extension acts on a page only when you click something, never reads your browsing history, reads a chat page only when you click a capture button (on ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, in that tab), never stores your conversations, and contains no ads or tracking code.

  • The five AI chat sites

    Asked at install

Chrome says: Read and change your data on chatgpt.com, claude.ai, gemini.google.com, perplexity.ai and copilot.microsoft.com

A small script on these sites waits for you to click Insert, then finds the chat box and puts your prompt in it. Insert doesn't read your conversations. A chat page is read only when you click a capture button (Save last prompt, Save + Improve or Create from conversation), only in that tab, on ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. Nothing from the page is sent to us except a prompt you choose to save, the text you started from and the address of the page it came from.

  • Our API

  • Clipboard

    Asked at install

Chrome says: Modify data you copy and paste

The Copy buttons, and the fallback when Insert can't find a chat box: the prompt is copied and we tell you to press Ctrl+V. The extension never reads your clipboard.

  • Storage

    Asked at install

Chrome shows no warning for this one.

Keeps your sign-in, an offline copy of your library and your settings on this computer. Unlimited storage stops a large library from hitting Chrome's default size cap.

  • The tab you're using, when you act

    Asked at install

Chrome shows no warning for this one.

When you choose Save as prompt, it reads the selected text (keeping its line breaks) and the page address. When you Insert into an AI tab that was open before you installed the extension, it adds the insert script to that tab. Nothing runs until you click.

  • Sign in with Google

    Asked at install

Chrome shows no warning for this one.

Opens Google's sign-in window for “Continue with Google”. It doesn't read your Chrome profile or the Google account Chrome is signed in to.

  • All sites (only if you turn on the floating button)

Only if you turn it on

Chrome says: Read and change all your data on all websites

Off by default. If you turn on the floating “Save prompt” button in Settings, Chrome asks for this so the button can appear when you select text on any site. The button only sends the selected text when you click it. Turning the setting off removes the permission.

What it never does

  • Read your chats with AI tools, or send anything from those pages to us.
  • Look at your browsing history or the pages you visit.
  • Press send for you, or change anything on a page except the chat box you insert into.
