Save My Prompts keeps the prompts that worked for you, so you can find them and use them again in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and other AI apps. This page takes about ten minutes. It walks you through setting up, the five things worth trying first, and how to tell us when something doesn't work, which helps us most while we're getting ready to launch.
1. Add the extension and sign in#
- Open the Chrome extension page and choose Add to Chrome. It needs Chrome 116 or later on a computer; it doesn't run on phones.
- Pin it: click the puzzle icon next to the address bar and pin Save My Prompts, so the side panel is one click away.
- Sign in from the side panel. Continue with Google is quickest; email and password works too. The website and the extension share the same sign-in, so signing in once covers both.
If we sent you a test build instead, install the one we sent rather than the store version, and keep only one of them switched on in chrome://extensions.
2. Five things to try#
- Save a prompt you just used. In ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, send a prompt you'd want again, then open the side panel and choose Save last prompt. Check the title and tags it suggests, and save.
- Use it again. Start a new chat, open the side panel (or press Alt+Shift+P for quick search), find the prompt and choose Insert. If it has [blanks], fill them in first. After the answer arrives, the side panel asks Did it work?; answer it.
- Try the Improve hint on ChatGPT. Type a short, vague prompt into ChatGPT's chat box. A small hint appears if something important is missing, such as who it's for or the format. Choose Improve and compare the two versions.
- Find things on the website. Sign in on savemyprompts.net. Your library is the home page: search, filter by category or tag, or paste a prompt to save it. Then make a board under Boards, add a few prompts, put them in order and choose Copy all.
- Check your data. In Account settings, export your prompts, and look at Connected AI apps. If you use Claude, you can also connect it (see Claude and MCP apps) and ask it to find one of your prompts.
Everything is free while we test, with no limits. Pro goes on sale at launch.
3. Tell us what didn't work#
Use the contact form with the topic Feedback or an idea; it reaches us straight away. One report per problem is easiest for us. Please include:
- what you did, step by step, what you expected, and what happened instead;
- the AI site (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity or Copilot) and your browser;
- the extension's version, from
chrome://extensions(it's under the name); - a screenshot, if it shows the problem.
Leave out anything private: we don't need the text of your prompts or your chats to fix most problems, and the form isn't the place for passwords. Ideas and things that felt confusing are as welcome as bugs.
What isn't ready yet#
- Importing prompts from a ChatGPT export, a backup or a CSV file is coming with Pro.
- The Edge version of the extension is on its way; for now it's Chrome only.
- Save My Prompts works inside Claude and Cursor; a ChatGPT version is coming soon. Your library on the website and in the extension works today.
