These terms are the agreement between you and [PLACEHOLDER: Legal entity name (company or sole proprietor)] for using the Save My Prompts website, Chrome extension, mobile app and API. By making an account, or by using the service without one, you agree to them. The short version: your prompts are yours; if you make one public, other people may copy, use and remix it; keep it legal and safe for work; and the service is free, supported by ads on public website pages.
1. Who can use Save My Prompts#
You must be at least 16 years old, or at least 18 if you're in India, to make an account. If you use Save My Prompts for an organisation, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for it.
Anyone can read and copy public prompts without an account. Saving, liking, remixing, publishing and sharing need an account with a verified email address.
2. Your account#
- Give us a real email address you can receive mail at. Keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for what happens under your account.
- One person per account. Don't make accounts to get around a suspension or the limits on publishing, invites and reports.
- Your @handle must not impersonate someone else or a brand you don't represent. We may reclaim a handle that does.
- Tell us straight away at [PLACEHOLDER: Support email, e.g. support@savemyprompts.net] if you think someone else is using your account.
3. Your prompts belong to you#
You keep the copyright and any other rights you have in the prompts, boards and notes you create. We don't claim ownership of them.
So that we can run the service, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, display, format and transmit your content, only as needed to provide Save My Prompts to you and to the people you share it with, according to the visibility you choose. That includes things like syncing to your devices, showing link previews and making backups. This licence ends when you delete the content, apart from backups that roll off within 30 days.
You confirm that you have the right to post what you post, and that it doesn't break the law or our community guidelines.
4. The public prompt licence#
Save My Prompts exists so good prompts get used. When you make a prompt public, or share it with anyone with the link, you grant every person who can see it a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable licence to copy it, use it (including in AI tools, and for commercial work), change it, and publish remixes of it on Save My Prompts.
- You keep your copyright. This licence doesn't transfer ownership.
- A remix on Save My Prompts shows “Remixed from” with your handle while your original is public. Please don't remove that credit.
- If you later make the prompt private or delete it, we stop showing it, but people who copied or remixed it while it was public may keep and keep using what they have.
- Publishing someone else's prompt outside Save My Prompts as if it were yours isn't covered. Remix on the site instead, so credit stays attached.
Staff picks published by @savemyprompts are under the same licence.
5. What you can't do#
Follow the community guidelines. In particular, don't publish anything unlawful, sexual, hateful, harassing or dangerous, other people's personal data, or someone else's copyrighted work. Also don't:
- Scrape the site faster or more widely than robots.txt allows, or copy the public feed wholesale into another service.
- Get around rate limits, holds, suspensions or access controls, or test our security without following our security.txt.
- Inflate use, like or save counts, or create accounts automatically.
- Use the API except through our website, extension and app, unless we've agreed otherwise in writing.
- Use Save My Prompts to send spam, including invites to people who didn't ask for them.
6. Moderation, holds and strikes#
We review content that's reported or flagged, and we may hold, remove or limit it, or suspend accounts, when it breaks these terms, the guidelines or the law. In summary:
- A new account's first three public prompts wait for review, usually less than 24 hours. Their links work in the meantime.
- A prompt reported by three different established accounts is held until a person reviews it.
- When we remove something or act on your account, we email you the reason. Reply within 14 days to appeal, and a person will look again.
- Three upheld removals within 90 days suspend your publishing for 30 days. Serious or repeated harm can end your account straight away.
Users in India can also raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer and, after that, the Grievance Appellate Committee.
7. Copyright complaints#
If you think something on Save My Prompts copies your work, follow the steps on our copyright page. We end the accounts of repeat infringers.
8. Prompts and AI tools#
Save My Prompts doesn't run AI models. We help you keep prompts and put them into tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot. Those tools, and what they produce, are governed by their providers' terms.
Prompts written by other people are shared as they are. Check what an AI tool gives you before relying on it, especially for medical, legal, financial or safety decisions. A prompt on this site isn't professional advice.
9. The extension and the app#
We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the Save My Prompts extension and app with your account. They update automatically through the Chrome Web Store and app stores, whose own terms also apply.
The extension acts only when you use it. What it can access, and why, is explained on the extension page and in our privacy policy.
10. Ads, Pro and payments#
Save My Prompts is free. Public pages on the website may show Google ads, labelled “Advertisement”. Ads are never shown in the Chrome extension or the mobile app.
We plan a paid Pro plan. Nothing can be bought today. Before Pro launches we'll publish its price, what it includes, how to cancel and how refunds work here, and payments will be taken by a payment provider acting as merchant of record. Your rights under consumer law in your country always apply.
11. Changes and availability#
We're a small team. We work to keep Save My Prompts running and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. Current status is on the status page.
We may change or remove features. If a change takes away something you rely on, or we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell account holders by email at least 14 days ahead, unless a law or a security problem needs a faster change. Using the service after that means you accept the new terms; if you don't, you can delete your account.
12. Ending your account#
You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account. You can export your data first. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we'll tell you why unless the law or someone's safety prevents it.
When an account ends, its prompts and boards are deleted, including public ones. Remixes other people made stay with them, marked “original removed”. The public prompt licence for copies made while a prompt was public continues.
13. Disclaimers#
Save My Prompts is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don't give warranties about it being uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, or about content other people publish.
14. Limits on our liability#
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost data you could have exported, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and [PLACEHOLDER: Liability cap for free users, e.g. ₹5,000].
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer.
15. Governing law and disputes#
These terms are governed by [PLACEHOLDER: Governing law and courts, e.g. the laws of India, courts at [city]]. If you live in the EU or the UK, you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live, and the mandatory consumer protections of your country still apply. Please write to us first; most problems are quicker to fix by email.
16. Contact#
