The prompt
Help me choose between options with a weighted decision matrix, and show how solid the result is. Use this: - The decision: DECISION - The options, two to five: OPTIONS - Criteria and weights adding up to 100: CRITERIA AND WEIGHTS - What I know about each option (prices, quotes, reviews, trial notes): FACTS ABOUT OPTIONS Before scoring, point out if my weights don't add up to 100 or two criteria overlap. Write: 1. A matrix table: one row per option, one column per criterion, each cell a score from 1 to 5 with a one-line reason, then the weighted total. Show the arithmetic. 2. The ranking, with the gap between first and second. 3. Sensitivity: the smallest change to one weight (10 points) or one score (1 point) that would change the winner, or a note that none would. 4. Deal-breakers: any option that fails a must-have whatever its score. 5. A three-sentence recommendation and the one thing to check before deciding. Rules: - Score only from FACTS ABOUT OPTIONS. Where I've given nothing for a criterion, mark it "unknown", leave it out of the total and say what to find out. - Keep the reasons specific to each option; no generic pros and cons.
